GTA 6 cheat codes: none exist yet, and here is how we will know

No GTA 6 cheat codes exist publicly. Any site showing you one today invented it, because the game is not out. Every GTA 5 vehicle-spawn code is below, clearly labelled as the other game it belongs to.

Short answer

Confirmed

No Grand Theft Auto VI cheat codes are known. Rockstar Games has published none, the game is not out, and Rockstar has never in the series' history published a cheat list at all — cheats are found by players after release. Any site showing you a GTA 6 cheat code today made it up.

Grand Theft Auto VI releases 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The countdown page tracks the date. Until then this page holds the three things that are actually true and useful: an honest account of what is not known, a factual explanation of how Grand Theft Auto cheats have historically worked, and — because it is the closest real answer available — every vehicle-spawn cheat in Grand Theft Auto V, which is the game the eventual GTA 6 list will most resemble.

Are there GTA 6 cheat codes?

No. Not publicly, not yet, and this is a confirmed absence rather than an oversight.

Rockstar has never officially published cheat lists for any game in the series. Not for Vice City, not for San Andreas, not for Grand Theft Auto IV, not for Grand Theft Auto V. Codes are built into the game and then discovered by players — through button-combination testing, through datamining, and in the early years through gaming magazines that got there first. The list you eventually see on any cheat site is a community artefact, not a publisher document.

That matters here because it sets the timeline. There is no announcement to wait for. Cheats will exist or not exist, and players will find out by playing.

Then why does every other site already have a list?

Because publishing invented cheat codes before a major release is a cheap way to rank for a high-volume search term, and almost nobody comes back to complain.

There is no source those pages could be working from. Rockstar has published nothing. The game is unreleased. The 2022 leak, which is where a lot of other unverified Grand Theft Auto VI "data" originates, contained no cheat system documentation.

So the pages fall into two groups. Some recycle Grand Theft Auto V's codes under a new heading, which is at least traceable but is not what it claims to be. Others generate plausible-looking button strings from nothing. Entering either into Grand Theft Auto VI in November will do nothing, which is the harmless outcome. The real cost is that you cannot tell the fabricated pages from the honest ones until you have already trusted one.

Will GTA 6 have cheats at all?

Probably. Every mainline Grand Theft Auto game has shipped with them, going back to the original in 1997 and continuing unbroken through Grand Theft Auto V.

That is a pattern, and a strong one. It is not a promise. Rockstar has made no statement about cheats in Grand Theft Auto VI, and the studio has changed long-standing conventions before. Red Dead Redemption 2 kept cheats but locked most of them behind newspapers you had to find and buy in-game first, which is a meaningful departure from typing a code from a wiki. Something similar in Grand Theft Auto VI would be entirely in character, and it would change this page from a code list into a location list — the kind of thing that belongs on the interactive map rather than in a table.

Vice City, in Rockstar's own material. Raising and lowering the wanted level was a cheat category in every previous game; whether it survives into this one is unknown.Image: Rockstar Games

There is also a commercial reason to hold the expectation loosely. Cheats sit awkwardly beside paid content, and Rockstar has grown steadily more careful about anything that touches progression. That is not a prediction that cheats are gone. It is a reason not to treat their return as settled.

State it as what it is: expected, on the basis of series history, not confirmed.

How have GTA cheats worked historically?

This part is verifiable, and it is the most useful thing on the page before launch, because it tells you what shape to expect the answer to arrive in.

GameMethod
GTA Vice City, San AndreasTyped codes on PC, button combinations on console, entered during gameplay
GTA IVIn-game mobile phone — dial a number to activate
GTA V (PS4/PS5, Xbox)Controller button combinations during gameplay, or dial a number on the in-game phone
GTA V (PC)Text console entry, plus the same in-game phone numbers

The through-line is that consoles get button combinations and PC gets typed input, with the in-game phone as a second route on both since Grand Theft Auto IV. Grand Theft Auto V inherited its phone system directly from Grand Theft Auto IV.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches console-only. There is no PC version at release — see the PC release status guide — so on day one the only plausible input methods are controller combinations and, if it returns, the in-game phone.

Every GTA 5 vehicle-spawn cheat, as the worked example

The section above describes the mechanism in the abstract. This is it in full, for the game GTA 6 follows directly — and it is the most useful thing on this page until November.

These are Grand Theft Auto V codes, on a Grand Theft Auto VI page, clearly labelled as such. They will not work in Grand Theft Auto VI — nothing will, because no Grand Theft Auto VI codes exist yet. They are here because they are the closest honest answer to what you came looking for, and because they show the exact shape the real list will arrive in.

14 vehicles. Cheats disable Achievements and Trophies for the session, and nothing you spawn is saved. Checked 2026-08-03 against IGN and GTA BOOM.

Two details in that list are worth carrying into November, because they are the kind of thing a code list normally omits.

The first is that eleven of the fourteen have a button combination and three do not. The Dodo, the Duke O'Death and the Kraken arrived with the Expanded & Enhanced release, are phone-and-console-only, and each stays locked until you have completed a specific piece of content first — a random event or, for the Kraken, photographing all twenty species in the Wildlife Photography Challenge. A cheat gated behind an in-game task is not really a cheat; it is a reward with a shortcut attached. That is the Red Dead Redemption 2 pattern described above, already present in Grand Theft Auto V and easy to miss.

The second is that the phone numbers are words. 1-999-BANDIT is the BMX, 1-999-HOLE-IN-1 is the golf cart, 1-999-BARN-STORM is the stunt plane. If the phone system returns in Grand Theft Auto VI, the numbers will be guessable long before they are documented, and that is the single most likely way the first real GTA 6 codes get found.

Do cheats disable trophies?

In Grand Theft Auto V, yes, and this is the single most useful thing to know before you touch one.

Activating any cheat in Grand Theft Auto V disables Achievements and Trophies for that session. The lockout clears when you reload a save, but the progress you made while cheats were running does not retroactively earn anything. If you are working toward completion, using a cheat during a mission can cost you the reward for it.

Cheat effects also cannot be saved. Most Grand Theft Auto V cheats stop applying the moment you reload, which is deliberate — it is why there was never a money cheat, and why nothing you spawn is permanent.

Assume Grand Theft Auto VI works the same way until the shipped game proves otherwise. If you care about the completion percentage, that assumption is the safe one. How Rockstar's completion checklist actually counts is covered in the guide to 100% completion, and the collectibles tracker will follow the same logic.

What cheats will GTA 6 probably have?

Unknown. But the categories that recurred throughout Grand Theft Auto V are a reasonable guide to the shape of the eventual list:

  • Player invincibility
  • Weapons and ammo
  • Wanted level, raised and lowered
  • Vehicle spawns
  • World and weather effects
  • Slow motion
  • Low gravity
  • Super jump
  • Fast run
  • Explosive and flaming ammo

Read that as a category forecast, not a list of codes. Which of these returns, and in what form, is exactly the kind of thing nobody can know before 19 November.

Two categories are worth watching in particular. Vehicle spawn cheats matter because Grand Theft Auto VI has a confirmed vehicle-collecting activity — the Classic Car Collection, a set of abandoned project cars commissioned by a character called Wyman, covered on the vehicles hub and flagged by Rockstar as Ultimate Edition content rather than base-game content. If spawn cheats return and the collection counts toward completion, the interaction between the two is the first thing worth testing. And weapon cheats matter for the same reason in reverse: Rockstar has confirmed weapon lockers and loadout customisation, described on the weapons hub, and a give-all-weapons cheat sits awkwardly next to a locker system. Neither question has an answer yet. Both are the kind of thing this page will be able to answer properly in late November.

What MapDex will publish, and when

Verified codes only, after launch, with the method that produced them.

Once the game is out, cheat discovery moves fast — but slower than usual here, because no PC version at launch means no straightforward file extraction. Expect the first confirmed codes within days rather than hours, and expect the list to fill in over weeks.

When they arrive, this page becomes a working reference: code, input method per platform, exactly what the cheat does, and whether it blocks Trophies or Achievements. Everything on it will have been tested in the released game.

Until then, the useful pages on this site are the ones with real content behind them — the interactive map, the vehicle hub, the weapons hub and the guides index. A cheat page that admits it has nothing is more useful than one that pretends otherwise.

Common questions

What are the GTA 6 cheat codes?
None are known. Rockstar Games has published no cheat codes for Grand Theft Auto VI, and the game does not release until 19 November 2026. Rockstar has never published cheat lists for any game in the series — players discover them after launch. Any list you find today is invented.
Will GTA 6 have cheat codes?
Probably, but it is not confirmed. Every mainline Grand Theft Auto game has shipped with cheats, from the original through Grand Theft Auto V. That is a strong pattern and reasonable grounds for expectation. It is not a promise, and Rockstar has made no statement about cheats in Grand Theft Auto VI.
How do you enter cheats in GTA?
In Grand Theft Auto V on console, cheats are entered as controller button combinations during gameplay, or by dialling a number on the in-game mobile phone. On PC there is a text console alongside the phone method. Earlier games used typed codes or button combinations; the phone system arrived with Grand Theft Auto IV.
Do cheats disable trophies and achievements?
In Grand Theft Auto V, yes. Using a cheat disables Achievements and Trophies for that session. Reloading a save clears the flag, but any progress made while cheats were active still will not award them. Assume Grand Theft Auto VI behaves the same way until the released game proves otherwise.
Can you save a game with cheats active?
In Grand Theft Auto V, cheat effects are not saved. Most cheats stop applying once you reload, so there is no way to bank an invincibility or vehicle-spawn cheat into a save file. Money and permanent world changes were never cheatable in Grand Theft Auto V for this reason.
What kinds of cheats did GTA 5 have?
Player invincibility, weapons and ammo, wanted-level raise and lower, vehicle spawns, world and weather effects, slow motion, low gravity, super jump, fast run, and explosive or flaming ammo. Categories recur across the series, which makes them a reasonable guide to what to expect rather than a specific prediction.
What are the GTA 5 vehicle spawn cheats?
Grand Theft Auto V has fourteen vehicle-spawn cheats: BMX, Buzzard Attack Helicopter, Caddy, Comet, Duster, Limo, PCJ-600, Rapid GT, Sanchez, Stunt Plane and Trashmaster, each with a controller button combination, a PC console code and a phone number; plus the Dodo, Duke O'Death and Kraken, which have no button combination and stay locked until you complete a specific random event or challenge. The full list with codes for every platform is on this page.
Do GTA 5 cheat codes work in GTA 6?
No. Nothing works in Grand Theft Auto VI, because no cheat codes for it exist yet and the game is not released. Grand Theft Auto V codes are specific to Grand Theft Auto V. They are published on this page as reference material — to show what a real cheat list looks like and what shape the eventual Grand Theft Auto VI list will probably take — and are labelled throughout as belonging to the older game.
Why does every other site already have GTA 6 cheat codes?
Because inventing them is easy and ranks well. There is no source those pages could be drawing from: Rockstar has published nothing and the game is unreleased. Some pages recycle Grand Theft Auto V codes with a new heading. Entering an invented code does nothing at best.
When will real GTA 6 cheats be known?
Within days of release on 19 November 2026, most likely. Cheats are found by players testing button combinations and datamining, and with no PC version at launch the process is slower than usual. MapDex will publish verified codes once they work, and nothing before.

ConfirmedThe full database goes in as real data arrives. Until then this page lists only what has been published, and says so. Track your completion or open the map.
