Short answer
ConfirmedGrand Theft Auto VI is $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate in the United States. Storefront-confirmed prices also exist for the eurozone (€79.99 / €99.99), the United Kingdom (£69.99 / £89.99), Australia (A$129.95 / A$159.95) and Canada (C$109.99 / C$139.99). Regional tiers were set individually, not converted from the dollar.
Three things to know before you compare
This table is most useful when you read it as a set of local storefront tiers — not as five exchange-rate conversions.
Start with your store
Confirm the price on the PlayStation or Xbox store tied to your account region. That is the amount you can actually buy at.
Compare the same thing
Match the edition, tax treatment and sales channel before deciding that one country is cheaper than another.
Keep your account safe
A lower foreign-store price is not a safe shortcut. Region-hopping can breach platform terms and put the wider library at risk.
Confirmed prices by region
| Region | Standard | Ultimate | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $79.99 | $99.99 | Rockstar press release |
| Eurozone | €79.99 | €99.99 | German storefront listings |
| Australia | A$129.95 | A$159.95 | Australian storefront listings |
| Canada | C$109.99 | C$139.99 | PlayStation Store Canada |
| United Kingdom | £69.99 | £89.99 | PlayStation Store UK and Xbox UK store |
The US figures come from Rockstar's pre-order announcement. Euro prices were confirmed on German storefronts and covered by PC Games Hardware. Australian prices were published by Press Start, and the Canadian figures appear on the PlayStation Store Canada listing.
Sterling used to be the weak row on this page. It is not. The £69.99 and £89.99 figures are on the PlayStation Store UK listing and, independently, on the UK Xbox store. Two platform holders publishing the same pair of numbers on their own storefronts is a primary source, and stronger than the press reporting this page previously cited for it.
One thing worth flagging while we are here: £64.99 and £84.99 are circulating in secondary coverage and are wrong. If a page quotes those, check what else on it came from the same place.
What each price buys is covered in the editions comparison — the short version is that the $20 gap, or its regional equivalent, is cosmetic and vehicle content rather than story.

Why $79.99 is the number everyone noticed
$69.99 had been the standard price for a new AAA release. $79.99 is $10 above it, and the announcement was covered across the industry as a moment that would set the ceiling for other publishers rather than as a routine pricing note.
That framing is the confirmed part. Whether other publishers follow is speculation, and we are not going to speculate about it here.
Why Canada and Australia sit below a straight conversion
Both the Canadian and Australian prices land below what a direct currency conversion of $79.99 would produce. That is not an error and it is not a discount. Platform holders and publishers set prices in per-region tiers, chosen once and held steady, rather than converting a base dollar figure at the day's exchange rate.
Rockstar has published no statement explaining its regional pricing rationale, so the reasoning above is an inference from the storefront prices themselves. Treat it as the standard industry practice it is, not as a Rockstar position.

Is GTA 6 cheaper in some countries than others?
Yes, and the spread appears to be large — but the evidence for the extremes is thin.
One price aggregator reports a range running from roughly $58 US-equivalent in South Korea up to around $107 in Israel, which is approximately an 84% spread between the cheapest and most expensive markets. That figure comes from a single aggregator and has not been verified against the storefronts it describes. Treat it as indicative of the shape of global pricing, not as a set of accurate numbers.
Reported applies to every figure in that range. The only prices on this page you should treat as settled are the five storefront-confirmed rows in the table above.
What the extra $10 is not
The price rise arrives alongside a release that is, at launch, smaller in scope than the game it follows in one specific way: Grand Theft Auto VI is single-player at launch, with no online mode announced. Grand Theft Auto V shipped with GTA Online arriving shortly after release.
That is a factual comparison rather than a complaint. It is worth knowing because the free month of GTA+ bundled with digital pre-orders is frequently read as a Grand Theft Auto VI online subscription, which it is not. GTA+ is a subscription to the existing service covering GTA Online in Grand Theft Auto V and a library of classic Rockstar titles. Nothing in Grand Theft Auto VI is behind it.

Can you buy from a cheaper country's store?
Buying from a regional storefront you do not reside in generally breaches the platform's terms of service. The consequence is not theoretical: platform holders can restrict or suspend the account, which affects the whole library attached to it, not just the one purchase.
That is a factual statement about how the terms work. Regional pricing exists for residents of that region, and the price difference is the platform's, not a loophole. Decide accordingly.
Has the price already moved?
At retail, slightly. Big W in Australia was reported listing the Standard Edition at A$125 against the A$129.95 recommended price, and German retailers cut prices around Prime Day. Both are Reported retailer behaviour.
What has not moved is the recommended price or digital storefront pricing. Rockstar has never discounted a mainline Grand Theft Auto game at launch, and the 19 November 2026 release date puts Black Friday one week later — close enough to tempt people into waiting, with no precedent suggesting it will pay off. The trade-off is covered in more detail in the pre-order guide, including the Vintage Vice City Pack deadline of 20 November 2026, which waiting past launch would forfeit.
What the price does and does not include
Whatever you pay in your region, the following applies everywhere:
- Single-player at launch. No Grand Theft Auto VI online mode has been announced.
- No subscription route. Nothing has been announced for Game Pass or PS Plus, so there is no cheaper subscription path to playing it at launch. Take-Two has made no statement about this game either way — see platforms and Game Pass.
- No disc in the box. The launch physical edition is a download code, which is why boxed copies ship from 12 November 2026 — the code needs redeeming in time for pre-load. See the no-disc explainer.
- PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. The PlayStation Store listing carries a PS5 Pro Enhanced designation.
- No official download size. Rockstar has published none, so every figure in circulation is an estimate.
Currency conversion is not the comparison you want
If you are trying to work out whether your region is being treated fairly, converting $79.99 into your currency and comparing is the wrong method. Three things distort it:
- Tax treatment differs. Some regional prices are quoted inclusive of sales tax or VAT and some are not, so two apparently different prices can be the same net figure.
- Tiers are set once. They do not follow the exchange rate, so the gap between your price and a converted US price changes without anything happening.
- Retail and digital diverge. The recommended price is a ceiling at retail, not a fixed price, as the Australian and German examples show.
The useful comparison is your region's price now against your region's price for the last comparable release, not against a live conversion.
What to check before you buy
- Confirm the price on your own regional storefront rather than trusting an aggregated table, including this one, for any region outside the four confirmed rows.
- Check whether the free month of GTA+ appears on your listing and whether it auto-renews. The PlayStation Store Canada listing states that it does.
- Confirm that a purchase before 20 November 2026 is what your storefront requires for the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- If you are torn on the edition, note that an Ultimate Edition Upgrade product exists on the PlayStation Store, and Rockstar's support documentation describes buying it after redeeming Standard. No price is shown on it yet, so it is not necessarily the $20 difference.
Release is 19 November 2026, with pre-load from 12 November. The countdown page tracks it, and everything else we cover for the game sits on the Grand Theft Auto VI hub.
